2023 in review

Greetings all.

It has been a shocking six years since we wrote about what is happening in our family. Much has happened in the last amount of time with many adventures.

Alice is a 5'7" 12 year old now and has moved onto grade 7 at a new school. She's experiencing riding the city bus to school and I think is really enjoying the freedom of those. Recently she's signed up to learn to play the tuba, following in her dad and uncle's steps. Alice has been enjoying taking care of house plants and doing something that neither Laura or I can do - have them thrive. Alice is constantly reading and if given unsupervised time at the library comes home with a stack of books from waist to her eyebrows.

Isaac is enjoying grade 4 and is willing and able to tell you all about video games, whether you would like to hear about it or not. He's usually found reading a book or swooshing lego. Of the sports he's been playing this last year including baseball and basketball, soccer is his favourite. We all enjoying kicking a ball around in front of the house.

Lucy is following in her siblings footsteps by having the same grade two teachers as Alice and Isaac. She and Isaac continue to ride the yellow school bus together. Lucy's reading is coming along and one of the current favourites is Elephant and Piggie by Mo Willems.

Laura continues to work at the clinic downtown, but has stopped doing baby deliveries which has allowed her to do things like "sleep". The past couple of years Laura has taken up winter biking on plowed paths to get to work.

Jim has been working remotely and enjoying that very much. While it has cut out a commuting bike rides, it has allowed him to bike around between meetings
